Music Teaching Time
10:15 AM

Music Teaching Time happens most Sunday mornings just before the main service. Why sing at church? Well, the primary minister of music in any worship service is the assembly. That’s you! God loves you just as you are, and God loves your voice, too—regardless of what you may think about it.

One of the ways we cultivate our culture of worship and song here at Southwood is through an interactive teaching time before each service begins, with our Music Minister, Gavin Caldwell. Even if you don’t consider yourself a singer, we heartily invite you to to join us pre-service for music teaching time on Sunday morning!

Worship services at Southwood include ...

Engaging music
With voices united, we sing on! Music is at the heart of who we are and what we do as a worshipping community. Sing along as you're comfortable!
Vibrant sermons
Each week's service includes a Scripture reading and 20–25 minute sermon from our Lead Pastor or another member of our preaching team.
Sometimes we pray aloud together, other times the Minister prays, and the "Prayers of the People" are often led by a member of the congregation. Feel free to join in or remain silent—no pressure!
Holy Communion
About once a month, we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Anyone who seeks to follow Jesus is welcome at the Lord's Table, including children. We use Gluten-/nut-free bread and juice (not wine).
