Corinne joined the Southwood staff team in 2003, leading our ministries to, for, and with kids and families in the congregation and wider community. Included in this ministry, she provides leadership to our Musical Theatre and Vacation Bible Camp programs. Her goal is for kids and families to know God loves them, know that we love them and know they are a key part of our church community. She hopes to encourage families to live an active faith, including creating opportunities to worship and serve together. Corinne seeks to be used by God to partner with parents and children on their faith journeys.
Corinne holds the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama from the University of Calgary and is a Designated Lay Minister in The United Church of Canada. Beyond her degree, Corinne’s education includes courses in Social Work, Psychology, Human Resources and Marketing. All of these things together, plus experience in a variety of work and volunteer environments have been exactly the tools she has needed for this wild and wonderful calling into Children’s & Family Ministry. Unbeknownst to her, God had been preparing her all along! Corinne has 2 awesome daughters and a wonderful husband, all who are part of our church (ministry is a family life-style choice!).
In Corinne’s spare time, you’ll find her spending time with her family, singing musicals (ad nauseum) and playing a few guilty-pleasure games on the iPad. She loves taking long road-trip adventures with her family when the opportunity arises! (Favorites include a 2017 cross-Canada journey and trips to NYC and the Oregon Coast).
