Leslie joined the Southwood staff in 2009. She oversees all of our Caring Ministries, serving in the areas of visitation, accompaniment, outreach, and pastoral care. Her goal is to nurture the caring culture of Southwood's church community; journeying with those who are going through challenging times, as well as those who walk beside them. Leslie seeks to be used by God to help people feel his strength and find joy in all circumstances.
Leslie graduated from the University of Western Ontario, with the Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. During her years as a therapist, she worked in adult rehabilitation, paediatrics, home care and long term care. Leslie and her husband Gerry moved to Alberta shortly after completing university. They were blessed with three wonderful children. Leslie began attending Southwood in 1992. She quickly became an active volunteer in many areas. Leslie’s strong connection to the congregation, her work experiences and a deep personal grief journey have helped her respond to God’s call to pastoral care.
In Leslie’s spare time, you’ll find her spending time with family, especially her grandson, or caring for the horses and gardens on their acreage. She also loves quilting, cheering for the Calgary Flames, keeping in touch with friends, and all things Disney.
